In 1992, he joined Microsoft and since then he has been working in the organisation. While working closely with the company for such a long time, he worked on several schemes. He was part of the server division. After that he worked in software division, research and development, advertising platform, online services, and then returned to the server division after becoming the head. His ideology was work with other companies, even their competitors like IBM, Apple, and Dropbox. He also lead a lot of acquisitions like Mojang a company based in Sweden which developed the game Minecraft which is a cross platform game running on Sony PlayStation, Apples iOS mobile devices and also in Microsoft Xbox.
He led cloud computing in Microsoft and played a major part in making the company one of the world’s biggest cloud infrastructure and named it Microsoft Azure (Time, 2014). He served as a Senior Vice President in the Online Services Division and as a Vice President in the Microsoft Business Division. He was later made the president of the company’s $19 billion ‘Service and Tools’ business. They completely changed the nature of this division of the company. He played an important role in bringing Microsoft’s database, Windows Server and Developer Tools to Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform. The profit of this division has increased to US $ 20.3 billion in 2013 from $ 16.6 billion in 2011.In 2017 he released a book called ‘Hit refresh: The quest to rediscover Microsoft’s soul and imagine a better future for everyone. 2)Sundar Pichai of Indian origin has been made Google’s new CEO. Born in 1972 in Chennai, the original name of the Sundar Pichai is Pichai Sundarajan. Sundar Pichai has taken his Bachelor degree from IIT Kharagpur. He had achieved Silver Medal in his batch. In America, Sunder studied MS in Stanford University and an MBA from Wharton University. Pichai was a Siebel Scholar in Pennsylvania University.
Sundar Pichai joined Google in 2004 and his entry was marked roll out of a free mail service called G-mail. After joining Google Sundars first success came after Google hit an infamous doomsday situation. Microsoft changed the default search engine in Internet explorer with their own search engine called Bing, in those days during 2006 almost everyone was using Internet Explorer. He was in charge of coming up with a response. His solution, a Google toolbar which could be installed directly into anyone’s PC and browse. Later he soon started working on other products such as Google gears and Google pack.
The success of Google’s toolbar gave Pichai the idea of developing Googles very own browser .He shared his idea with his superiors but faced heavy criticism from the then CEO Eric Schmidt who thought that making a browser will be very expensive. However Pichai was successful and convinced the co founders of google Sergey Brin and Larry Page to launch Googles very own browser. Later he played a pivotal role in the launch of the browser Google Chrome in 2008. It became a huge success as it allowed its users to direcly access Google search engine. Google Chrome overtook Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox to become the number one browser in the world. After the gigantic success of Google Chrome he became an Internatinal figure for Google.Chrome also made way for other products like Chrome OS, Chromebooks, and Chromecast. From this idea, he came in the eyes of Google founder Larry Page. From 2008 to 2013, the success of the Chrome operating system under the leadership of Sundar Pichai was successful, and after that, his name has become worldwide from the Android Market Place. Sundar has created Google Drive, Gmail App, Google Video Codec ,Chrome OS and Android Apps made it to the top of Google. In 2013 the Android division came under him and he also contributed to the advancement of Google’s other business. Because of Pichai, Google has made Samsung a partner. Indra Krishnamurthy Noori is the CEO of PepsiCo, which is the 2nd largest F business in the world. She was born in Chennai, Tamil nadu, India. She got her bachelors degree from MCC, Chennai and got her MBA from IIM Calcutta. She joined pepsico in1994.She was made CFO in 2001 and was made the CEO in 2010.She helped restructuring PepsiCo and disinvest from the Yum! Brands which included Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut. She also played a major role in the acquisition of Tropicana and Gatorade. In 2008 Forbes named her the third most powerful woman in the world.
She also took the decision to remove Aspartame from diet Pepsi that lead to a drop in sales. She wanted to distance PepsiCo from the junk food industry by providing healthier options. She classified their products into three sections- the first one is called ‘fun for you’ contains the tastier snacks which are not considered good for health like potato chips and regular soda, the second one called ‘better for you’ which contained less harmful products like diet sodas and low fat content snacks and the third classification was called ‘good for you’ which was healthy foods items like oatmeal and fruit juice.
