In today’s dynamic times, a refined global outlook is crucial to success. A management degree from IIM Bangalore is what I believe, will enable me to transform into a management professional possessing immense potential. Hailing from a family of businessmen, I have observed the business activities of my father which have inspired me ever since I had been a child. My decision to pursue higher studies is driven by the fact that my father could not complete his education due to familial relationships. He earned a high school degree for himself and then relied on his own diligence and perseverance to succeed. Keeping this in my mind, I devoted myself to study and eventually cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in 2014. I was admitted to the Chemical Engineering department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi. I wish to continue studying and build a firm portfolio. My technological know-how, coupled with a Masters in management will provide me with an upper hand in the contemporary societal scenario and will instill in me the required skillset and experience to lead in an international context. I am in my final year of graduation and during these four years, I have tried to gain a holistic experience in cultural, academic and technical fronts. My interests and hard work have helped me perform well consistently, maintaining a GPA of 9.4 (on a scale of 10) after 6 semesters. I stand among the top 5 of my class of 102 in the Chemical Engineering batch of 2018. Owing to my performance in class, I was awarded teaching assistantship for the course of ‘Chemical Reaction Engineering’ for three consecutive semesters. My role involved delivering tutorials, participating in the assessment process and providing appropriate guidance to students to support their learning. To add to my academic achievements, I was selected for a research internship project at IIT Bombay. This project helped me in consolidating my understanding of Oil and Gas industries, their energy conservation challenges and environmental issues. This was my first experience of working in a team on a project and solving a real-life problem. In my third year of undergraduate studies, I was one of the few students who was awarded the DAAD-WISE Fellowship courtesy of which I interned at the Leipzig University, Germany. This project helped me understand pressing global issues such as Global Warming and solutions associated with it. In addition to technical exposure, this internship experience helped me develop an overall personality, bringing the best out of me. I cherished the opportunity to interact with people from diverse backgrounds which enhanced my interpersonal and communication skills. CAT Regn. No. 7112847 Name Ayushi Bansal I discovered an inclination for Aero-modelling and Robotics in college and became closely associated with the corresponding clubs under the Science and Technology Council. I won various technical competitions and was then selected as a panel member of the Aero-Modelling club. I have since been a major part of the event organizing team that works toward conducting various events and workshops related to aero-modelling and robotics. I have also been associated with the ‘Dramatics club’ of my college, which happens to be another of my passions, and have participated in various intra- and inter-college events. I hope that in the near future, with the guidance of experienced professors of IIM Bangalore, I will thoroughly cultivate my independent thinking and learning capabilities. I eventually plan to work as a professional manager on the global front. I am convinced that by studying alongside dedicated peers at IIM Bangalore, I will be able to engage in enlightening projects and acquire a more profound academic foundation.
